Peppa Pig Theme Park Becomes Disney World’s Neighbor

The popular animated children’s program “Peppa The Pig” hails from the U.K. and is being celebrated in the U.S. with the recent announcement of the world’s first Peppa Pig theme park. The first-ever Peppa Pig theme park will be neighboring the international theme park destination Disney World in Florida. 

The new theme park will be based on the beloved children’s show will be approximately one hour away from Disney World but plans to be a big attraction based on the popularity of the series. “Peppa The Pig” initially debuted in the U.K. starting in 2004 and is now broadcast in over 180territories, translated into 40 different languages. 

The Peppa Pig amusement park will feature fun live shows, interactive rides, water play areas, interactive attractions, and themed play areas with ‘muddy puddles.’ This theme park is working towards inclusivity being registered as a Certified Autism Center that will be accessible to visitors with autism. 

The International Association of Amusement Parks (IAAPA)announced during the 2021 IAAPA Expo announced they’re currently working in partnership with the International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Educational Success (IBCCES) to establish registered Certified Autism Centers. These centers will feature places with “highly-trained staff and are fully equipped to serve the fastest-growing population of developmental disorders.” 

Parks must meet certification requirements that are “dedicated to serving individuals with autism” while complying with ADA and HIPPA requirements. These requirements will maintain compliance with National Healthcare/Education Accreditation standards of having at least 80% of staff trained and certified in the field of autism with the commitment to ongoing training regarding autism. To start, Peppa Pig theme park as well as Legoland Florida and its three on-site hotels will be registered as a Certified Autism Center. 

The Peppa Pig theme park will be located near Legoland that will feature rides for ages 2 to 12 including Grampy Rabbit’s Dinosaur Adventure, Peppa Pig’s Balloon Ride, and Daddy Pig’s Roller Coaster. The Fun Fair attraction will give kids the chance to meet Peppa and her friends along with more unique attractions for the whole family. 

The theme park will feature attractions inspired by the animated series such as tea parties in Peppa’s treehouse, an indoor cinema, a nature trail, a maze, a tricycle pathway, an outdoor playground, and a flourishing greenhouse. The official website for the developing theme park is offering ticket and hotel package pre-orders.
